What:

The VISTA Healthplans 11th Annual Tallahassee Wine and Food Festival, presented by First Commerical Insurance Company, benefiting the March of Dimes, has become Tallahassee's premier event. Attendance has grown every year, with many of the events selling out. Over 750 attendees made last year another success. The event raised $500,000 last year, a significant increase from $170,000 in 2003. Chairperson: Michelle Robleto;

The Festival begins in Italy with an elegant cocktail reception, wine dinner and live auction on Thursday. Guests will enjoy a four-course wine dinner, with each course accompanied by the best Italian wines. Our celebrity auctioneers, Senator Jim King and Sara Michaels, will rally bids for a variety of rare auction packages, including private dinner parties by local chefs, jewelry and luxury trips.

Feeling a little Scottish? Join fellow golf enthusiasts for a meeting on the green. From the novice player to the professional, golfers will experience one of Tallahassee's finest golf courses and compete for an array of great prizes at Southwood.

"Oo la la!" French Cooking Classes featuring a nationally recognized celebrity chef. Guests will have the opportunity to select one class from a list of 3 courses relating to French cuisine. Eric Favier, Executive Chef at Chez Pierre, will be among one of the chefs to teach a class. Following the class, guests will enjoy a fabulous brunch and cooking presentation by celebrity chefs, Jamie and Bobby Deen (Food Network, Road Tasted ). Cookbooks and photos will be available for purchase and autographs.

Wine Classes, Wine Tasting, and Silent Auction

Learn from the best. Sell-out wine classes featuring "Cooking with Wine", "Basics of Wine Tasting", "Wine Making", and "Wine Tasting" for the Advanced Connoisseur.

The Wine Tasting will feature select wines from "Down Under," as well as an assortment of over 200 wines from around the world, live music and heavy hors d' oeuvres. Join the excitement of bidding in the "Sip and Shop" silent auction. Over 200 items will be auctioned from vintage wines to get-a-way trips. The evening will also recognize businesses and individuals that are winners of the Best of Tallahassee award, published by Tallahassee Magazine. Enjoy the popular Cocktail Lounge and Club Port, with its array of fine desserts and ports. New! Guests can "capture the moment" on film with "Dance Heads" (an interactive music video where the guests are the "stars") and indulge in the "chocolate fountain factory."
